The Cathedral Catholic High School varsity girls volleyball team defeated the Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots 3-0 today in the newly renovated Claver Center.

The Dons’ play, nearly free of mistakes, helped the team take the first set and hold dominance for the vast majority of the match. Ball control and steady pace quickly became the theme for CCHS.

“We passed really well, and we were able to easily control the ball,” CCHS head coach Miss Juliana Evens said. “Today we were a little bit more calm, and we took care of the ball.”

The Lady Dons now improve to a 7-4 record after today’s win, and OLP moves to 3-9. Throughout the match, the team exhibited a common mindset for the upcoming season.

“Our goal is definitely to win Western League, and we would love to win CIF,” Miss Evens said.

The Dons will continue on the road for their next game this Thursday against Point Loma High School.
