This past summer, several teachers got married including Mrs. Ashley Franklin, Mrs. Kelly Smith, and Mr. Stephen Anderson. El Cid caught up with these newlyweds to find out more about their summertime nuptials.

Mrs. Franklin

This summer at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church of Poway, Ms. Ashley Sprigg married her beloved fiancé Tanner and became Mrs. Ashley Franklin. She and her husband have been together for two and a half years now. Mrs. Franklin sang at Mass, and the couple met at her parish a few years ago through Mr. Franklin’s sister. “He knew who I was way before we met,” she said with a laugh.

Mrs. Franklin says that she loved every part of her wedding. “I specifically loved being able to see my friends and family that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise,” she said. Her roommates from college also came to town for the wedding.

The couple finished off their wedding festivities with a honeymoon in Huntington Beach. “We had a great time,” says Mrs. Franklin. “The weather was really nice!” After an exciting summer, Mrs. Franklin returned to CCHS this fall to teach Geometry and Algebra 2/Trigonometry.

Mrs. Smith

Former Ms. Kelly Scaramella tied the knot on July 17th with her boyfriend of two years, Aaron Smith.

When asked about her wedding, Mrs. Smith was all smiles. “I liked having all of my friends from different groups and circles in the same place at the same time,” Mrs. Smith said. The wedding flowed smoothly and the couple’s first dance song, “All of Me” by John Legend was a crowd pleaser.

After saying “I do,” the couple honeymooned in the Bahamas for a week and had an amazing time. Mrs. Smith returned to the Dons family this fall with a beautiful ring on her finger. She is teaching pre-calculus and geometry this year

Mr. Anderson

Mr. Stephen Anderson and his blushing bride Pamela got married on August 9th at the Pacifica restaurant in Del Mar. Mr. And Mrs. Anderson owe their happily ever after to none other than match.com, which is where they met two years ago. Pamela lives in the Palm Springs area where she teaches elementary school. The newlyweds travel to see each other every weekend and are hoping to be together soon.

The ceremony and reception were a simple and casual way to bring together their friends and family. Mr. Anderson’s favorite part of his nuptials was seeing everyone together, enjoying themselves. He especially loved Mr. Tim Foley’s music throughout the evening.

The happy couple hopes to honeymoon somewhere tropical like Hawaii either Christmas break or this summer. While he looks forward to his romantic getaway, you can find Mr. Anderson teaching chemistry and physics.
