Coach Petitte teaches knowledge and performance

Coach Petitte teaches knowledge and performance

Cathedral Catholic students who participate in after-school sports might be familiar with Coach Jeremy Petitte, known to most as “Coach P.”  He can be spotted in the weight room every afternoon, offering advice on how to do a proper sit up or weight lift.

In past years, he has been busy making sure that athletes get a sweat-inducing pre-season training sessions.  This year, Coach Petitte will also be working in the classroom as the teacher of the newly-offered Exercise Physiology and Foundations of Athletic Training classes.

Since he has mainly been involved with students through after school athleticsCoach Petitte says that he is most looking forward to interacting with students in a different setting and seeing what the classroom atmosphere is like.

Coach Petitte graduated from San Diego State University and has been working at Cathedral Catholic since 2006.

When he isn’t busy working, he enjoys golfing, cooking, and playing with his two-year-old daughter.

Coach Petitte says his classes will be “extremely challenging.”  He added that students will learn a lot about two things: how the body works while exercising and how to perform better in sports.
