Cathedral Catholic High School students began their second week of Advanced Placement testing on May 9. By taking AP exams, students attempt to test out of introductory college courses or to gauge their understanding of course material. The diligent efforts of El Cid student journalists finally paid off this week as positions on the El Cid staff for the 2016-2017 school year were awarded. Kelsey Bacinett will take over for Celine Aubry-Dumand in the role of Editor-in-Chief and Sydney Calhoun will replace Sarah Scherer for the position of Managing Editor. In addition, Matthew Bailey will serve as Social Media and Copy Editors, while Lauryn Sanchez takes up News Editor and LeeAnne Bates remains the Sports Editor. Students ended their week with some fun and excitement during the CCHS Spring Carnival. Administration altered the school schedule to allow an hour-long lunch for clubs to sell food and to provide activities like a bounce house for students to enjoy. After a year-long hiatus, ASB brought back this timeless tradition for the student body.
