Veteran journalist, CNN Bureau Chief and San Francisco Bureau Correspondent Mr. Greg Lefevre paid a visit to the El Cid staff  last Friday to discuss journalism and highlights from his four decade run as a broadcast journalist. An Emmy recipient in his own right for his coverage of the Oklahoma City Bombing on April 19, 1995, Mr. Lafevre delivered an hour-and-a-half long presentation, sharing some of his personal experiences as a reporter. Mr. Lafevre commenced his presentation with a brief discussion on what not to do during an interview, accepted questions from a captivated audience intermediately, and concluded the presentation by showing a clip from his coverage of aerobatic maneuvers. Mr. Lafevre warmly shook hands with and received gratitude from El Cid staff members upon ending his presentation, and a number of students stayed behind to talk to Mr. Lafevre during break. Thanks to Mr. Lafevre’s visit, students were given the invaluable opportunity to learn about the life of an established reporter, while further gaining knowledge of journalism as a profession.
