Cathedral Catholic students populated their week with activities demonstrating their strong affinity for learning, competing and, of course, having fun. In the realm of learning, students from Mr. Filippone and Mr. DeAngelo’s American government and AP American government classes visited Superior Court in downtown San Diego Tuesday and Wednesday. There, they observed civil, criminal and arraignment trials in progress to gain a better understanding of the American legal system. Cathedral Catholic’s swim and dive teams competed Thursday in a meet between the two other schools situated along Del Mar Heights Road: Torrey Pines High School and Canyon Crest Academy. The boys varsity lacrosse team also competed this week against Torrey Pines in the first game of its season. Finally, the CCHS Associated Student Body brought the party on Friday with Baked Bear cookies for purchase in support of prom in April.
