Experienced counselor aids seniors

Experienced counselor aids seniors

Along with the handful of counselors working at Cathedral, helping the students with the logistics of their academics, Mrs. Kristine Fleming, a new counselor, is dedicated to helping seniors with college applications, essays, and recommendations

She graduated from UC Santa Barbara and has experience being previously employed at Mira Mesa High School, Scripps Ranch High School, and Point Loma High School. At Cathedral, she is only working with seniors, unlike other high schools where she worked with 9th through 12th graders

Mrs. Fleming works 3 times a week and calls in as many seniors as she can, but also sees seniors who come in on their own. “I really enjoy helping them plan what is coming up,”  she said.

When asked if she enjoyed working at Cathedral she said, “I love it; the students are wonderful and so polite.” She especially enjoys working at Cathedral compared to other schools because, “It seems like the students are truly the number one priority here at Cathedral.”

Although she loves working with every student, she likes working with students who truly care about the success of their future and who want the best for themselves. Mrs. Fleming truly enjoys watching the bright faces of students moving forward with their futures.
